Like an onion

Over time and through life situations (good, bad, and indifferent) we become like onions - layered. Although we can lose sight of our true self, God sees through the layers. He knows who we are and what we can be. Through the sacraments those layers are dissolved, we return to a state of grace, and become brothers and sisters of our Lord Jesus Christ who awaits our arrival in the new Jerusalem.
