The snares and traps of the evil one are numerous. Another reason to follow the Holy Spirit and have the extra eyes of like faith family and friends to minimize the pitfalls. Amen.
Our uncertainties in a complex world can weigh us down and make the journey unbearable. Jesus places people along our path to help us lighten our load and go the distance. We must accept His and their loving help. It is almost impossible to do it alone when pride gets in the way. Amen.
There is no time like the present to raise the fervor of one's faith life. Like a good diet or workout regime, we need to focus on what is important for our soul - talking to our Father, listening to His loving and guiding word, and immersing ourselves in the Sacraments so we can make it Home. Amen.
Lent is a time to reflect and to change. Maybe this year we could start with a look at what works and what doesn't in our lives. From my experience the things that don't work are because Jesus isn't included in them. How's that possible. Evaluate the various aspects of your own life and He'll show you. Amen.
...nose on our faces. Many of the secular ways of the world in contradiction with the Church and Jesus' teachings are so obvious; and yet we allow them to remain part of our lives. As we prepare for the beginning of Lent tomorrow maybe we can identify at least one of the ways to rid our selves of. Amen.
Prayer is not empty talk to an imaginary friend. Prayer is a conversation with a loved one - God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I have seen the power of prayer, first hand, countless times. The prayers of many warriors for a person or situation draws God's attention and the results can be miracles. Again, it is in our oneness of Faith, Hope, and Spirit that God's love and justice prevail. Amen.
